Public Records Request

According to the policy of the Department, all report requests are subject to a review procedure before being released and may not be immediately available.

It is our goal to provide the public with access to information legally defined as public while maintaining the confidentiality of information exempted by law. Therefore if approved, the report you receive may have some information redacted.

Information which is excluded as Public Records under Chapter 4 Section 7 Clause 26 of Massachusetts General Laws or otherwise protected by law (such as Criminal History Systems information, Chapter 6 Section 167 and Rape Shield Law Chapter 41 Section 97D, Chapter 111B, Chapter 119 Section 51 through 51E, and other pertinent statutes) will not be released without a court order from a court of jurisdiction. Per Massachusetts abuse prevention law (Chapter 209A), domestic disturbance reports are available free of charge to the victim.
