Aquinnah PD Accepting Applications for a Full-Time Police Officer

POLICE OFFICER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Town of Aquinnah is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Full-Time Recruit Police Academy graduates and Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission certified Officers are preferred.

Applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
  • Possess a valid License to Carry (LTC) a firearm or the ability to obtain one
  • Must be a Massachusetts certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or become a MA certified EMT within your first eighteen (18) months of employment.

Applicants must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities ofa Police Officer. Successful applicants will be required to pass a medical and psychological examination, fitness test, and an
extensive background investigation.

Full-Time Police Officer starting salary is $87,174.00 plus education incentive pay (Associate’s 6%, Bachelor’s 11 %, Masters 12%), overtime pay, detail pay, health insurance benefits,
retirement benefits, vacation. holiday, and personal days’ pay, sick days, longevity pay, EMT incentive pay, and communications stipend pay.

Newly appointed Police Officer who is not MPTC full-time academy and POST Commission certified will attend a 26-week Municipal Police Training Committee Recruit Officer course
(ROC). Upon successful completion of the ROC, the new Officer will receive additional training through the Aquinnah Police Department Field Training program.
